Airtag

I know it’s not recommended for pets but that’s also 100% up to me. I need to know.. if my pet runs off into the woods, so far that the Bluetooth disconnects.. Will I be able to see my pets location?

Hi there

AirTags uses the find my network to send its location to your apple device., The find my network is basically a hole heap of apple devices that Has find my enabled. If your pet runs far away from any apple device that has the find my network enabled, you wont be able to track the AirTag. You wold have to hope that the pet runs near a apple device. But if you live in a rural area. I would not recommend using the AirTag to track the pet. Because of the small number of apple devices.

I hoped this helped

I haven’t read anywhere that it is not recommended to be used in pets. Last week we used the airtag for the first time on our one year old dog. We were on vacation and could not bring her with us so we hired a sitter the dog got away and we use the airtag to track her a half a mile away from where

she should’ve been. When you put the tag in lost mode it will use other phones in the area to triangulate the tags location. We drove up and she was standing right where the app told her she would be… I bought four more
