Remove pops and clicks in Logic Pro X

I'm trying to remove pops and clicks from my recordings, but in the file editor I can't see the area I am supposed to draw over to fix the wave with the pencil tool. There is no obvious inconsistency in the wave form. Is there some other way to remove these pops and clicks?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If there is no click/or pop in the waveform it is processing.

Have you tried to listen to the file using QuickTime ( Logic closed ) can you still hear the click/pop? If not it is a bandwidth issue between Logic and the Interface. As others have mentioned you most likely need to optimize Logic to the interface. If you are using an External drive to record to this can also cause problems if it is slow.

A Few Tips:

1) Never use a USB hub with external drives or the interface that are being used by Logic

2) Make sure that your Interface has current and updated drivers.

3) Research best settings for your interface in regards to Preferences: General: Devices ( Buffer, Processing Threads, Buffer Range etc. )

4) If the files are on an external drive. Save a package to an internal drive and test. This eliminates the performance of the external drive.

Hope this helps

Thank you. What I meant by that is there is nothing out of the way on the wave form. I’ve spent hour searching the wave form but found nothing. This may be some sort of bug in the software. I’ve seen in some other discussions that other users have had the same issue. Thanks for the plug-in recommendation. I was already looking into getting it. It just felt like too massive a solution for a seemingly smaller issue. Thanks again!

If you zoom in, and then some more, you can identify the click as a vertical line in the waveform. That can be redrawn. But what a job to do in, lets say, a 4 min song!

As mentioned in this thread, go to the source of the problem. A cpu overload during recording could be the problem, remove some plugins, raise buffersize......And yes, iZotope has a good and pricey solution.
