How NOT to back up your iphone to your macbook air

I would like to know how to prevent my MacBook Air from always backing up my iPhone when i just want to put some photos from my iPhone onto my MacBook Air.

I don't have a lot of memory on my MacBook Air and only use it for specific things. I need the storage only for those. My iPhone takes up a lot of memory every time I try to just put on a couple photos.

Use AirDrop:

You will need WiFi enabled on both your phone and on your Mac.
