$4.99 Credit

I have been receiving the following credit for months, but my balance is zero when I look in my account!

You may have been getting the $4.99 credit during the past few months. I believe that this credit is toward the Apple TV+ subscription. You are probably subscribed to Apple TV+. The way this works is that you are given the $4.99 credit to the Apple ID that is related to that subscription and then billed for your Apple TV+ subscription. In the end the $4.99 credit zeros out the $4.99 bill for that subscription. This makes the subscription free during the months that you receive the credit. You are seeing zero because you may be checking your balance after the bill has been applied to that credit. Try checking a few days before the bill is cut and you should see the $4.99 credit. In short, if you are not currently paying for your Apple TV+ subscription then the credit is being applied.
