My husband and I share a Verizon cell plan but each has their own number.

All of my texts to me show up on his phone why is that?

Is there a way to make our text messages private?

Yes, don't use the same Apple ID.

Each of you should have your own AppleD.

Check iPhone's Settings > Messages > Send & Receive >

YOU CAN RECEIVE IMESSAGES TO AND REPLY FROM

Selected are (don't share Apple ID):

  • Your phone number
  • Your Apple ID
  • Your iCloud ID


START NEW CONVERSATIONS FROM

  • Only your phone number is selected here
