The Age of this computer will Govern what newer version of macOS it will Qualify to install. Use About this Mac from the Apple Icon on Desktop - the required Information will be there.
With the above information in-hand - follow this How to get old versions of macOS and verify what version this computer Qualifies to install. Make sure to use Only Safari to commence the download as Others may not work
Make a Time Machine Backup Before attempting. Notation - Mojave is the Last version to support 32 bit applications / extensions and Drivers. Catalina and Big Sur Only support 64 bit and there is no workaround.
Are there any AntiVirus, Disk Cleaner, Optimizers, Un-installers, etc installed which should be removed as per Developers Instructions. They are useless, unneeded, cause havoc and interfere with the normal operation of the OS and may even Corrupt the OS requiring a Reinstallation

FYI - There is no macOS 10.16. The versions move from macOS 10.15 Catalina to macOS 11 Big Sur.
To move past the "corrupt" download issue, delete any previously downloaded "Install macOS..." app that is currently residing in your Applications folder. Drag it to the trash, empty the trash and restart your Mac. Then try the download again.
✅ - Using Safari only, download the macOS upgrade installer app:
Click > High Sierra.
EDIT - next time, post your problem as a new Community thread rather than drop into an existing thread. This way we can give your issue the full attention that it deserves.
I cannot download MacOS 11 cause I don't have macOS 10.16... I can't download 10.16 cause I don't have 10.15 all the way down to Sierra which I have. I cannot download 10.13 (high sierra - next upgrade version) cause says file corrupt on app store? WTF am I supposed to do... why is Apple so sh*t?
If you get a corrupted message...
Naw, not damaged, it's just that you have an old copy already in Applications, there are 2 cures...
Disconnect from the Internet & set the Date back to 2014, then you can run the Install MacsOS High Sierra App in Applications, so expired Certificates are not expired.
Or... trash the Install MacsOS High Sierra.app in Applications then a new copy more recent version can be downloaded.
Guess the instructions above were 1 - missed or 2 - over looked or 3 - ignored
Make sure to use Only Safari to commence the download as Others may not work
