beats studio buds color & registration

I bought white beats studio buds from best buy and paired it both with my Android and iPhone device. Upon initial pairing they were shown as black on both devices even though they're white. It not a big of a deal but I was under the impression that the mobile phones would show what the actual colors of the earbuds are based on what I have experienced with my Powerbeats Pro as well as what I've saw with those who reviewed it in Youtube videos. Then, on the Android App, it gives me the option to register the earbuds with the serial number already captured by the app, but when I tried to proceed, it prompted that the serial number is either invalid or ineligible for registration. Any thoughts on my issue?
