When I upgraded my 2016 MacBook Pro 13" to Catalina OS, it hang up and now it shuts down

I have an old MacBook Pro 13" bought in 2016 and I had it replaced LCD in 2018 now I have it repaired again in May 2021 and then when I upgraded it to Sta, Catalina OS from Mojave OS, it hang up always and now it shut down. Sent it for repair again, this time I was told that the spare units of this macBook with serial number C1***TY3 is already obsolete and they cannot repair the unit as it was a model in 2012 yet it was a new one in 2016. It really cannot be repaired anymore???? Thank you!

We’re other users like you and not Apple.

Repairs from Apple are typically available for five and sometimes to seven years, depending on location and local requirements.

If Apple has told you that this MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) (discontinued in 2016) can’t be repaired, then they’re not stocking parts for it.

Third-party repairs are your option. If a third party is willing to look at it, and some will and some won’t be.

Or replacement with a newer or new computer.

What’s odd here is that this Mac is not listed as vintage or obsolete (not under thar model): Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support
