To resolve a firmware issue, your Mac is restoring its firmware. You might see a progress bar, after which your Mac should start up normally. ref: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202768

It sounds like the firmware update was interrupted or is failing to install—which could point to a hardware issue, either RAM, SSD, or logic board...

I would contact Apple directly and see what they recommend:

Outside the USA—Contact Apple for support and service by phone

You can try a SafeBoot if it will allow you to proceed:  SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

You can try First Aid from Recovery, if it will allow you to proceed:  Recovery: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904

Boot into Internet Recovery (Option Command R) and from the dropdown menu: Utilities>  Disk Utility> run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD (and the "Macintosh HD-Data" volume as well if Catalina/Big Sur) If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.

Disk Utility>View>Show All Devices The best sequence is —

  • Volume level
  • Container level
  • Parent drive

Beeps how— single tone, repeating tones, what...(?)

What exact Mac?

what macOS were you running before the upgrade attempt?

If your Mac starts up to an Apple logo or progress bar

Device: Macbook Pro 2015 early release

Earlier OS: I was running Catalina before the upgrade begin

Here is whats happening when starting the mac

1) beeps like 3 shorts beeps followed by 3 long beeps followed by 3 shorts beeps again.

2) Shows Logo and progress bar and finished the progress bar

3) goes blank for about 30 seconds and again goes back to Step 1

The steps are repeating infinetely

I tried using Cmd + R during startup but, it didn't work.

How can I revert back to previous OS?

Kapil
