Deleted messages still consuming space in iCloud storage

I recently got a notification that my iCloud space is full. After assessing my usage, I deleted a text thread that was consuming 30gb of space, however after doing so, there has been no change in my iCloud storage. How do I resolve this?

Messages takes up a lot of space in iCloud even after deleting several Conversations Hi all! I recently received a message telling me that my iCloud storage (5 GB) was almost full. I took a look at it and realized that Messages was taking up 2.9 GB of space. So yesterday, I deleted (in all my devices) several long time Conversations containing several images and videos. I go back this morning to check my iCloud storage and it hasn't changed. Messages still takes up 2.9 GB. Could you help me understand that situation please? Thank you!

iCloud still full after deleting most Messages What do you have to do to get iCloud to reflect deletions? This is SO annoying. I deleted a lot of messages, which were the main consumer of space in iCloud and two weeks later I am still get warnings. Very subtle, Apple, but I am NOT signing up for a subscription for more space.
