Apple ID password issue

My wife's Apple ID is somehow linked to mine and having forgotten the password, I was forced to follow the prompts believing I would then be able to reset my wife's password only to find I reset my own. Anyone else had issues similar?

I don't know what you mean by "linked". There is no such thing with Apple IDs. There is Family Sharing but that only has to do with sharing of purchased and other material, nothing to do with account security.


What exactly is the problem now?
