signing into Apple ID

I made a new Apple ID account today and I set it up properly. Every time I try to download something from the App Store it asks me to continuously verify its me. when I try to verify using the code provided it either says incorrect or it doesn't send the code. when I go onto setting and sign in from there it asks me to verify the email but either doesn't send me the email or when it does it doesn't let me type in the code. I have been trying to get it to work for over an hour now, can you please help?
