i just opened my apple pen and charged it to 100% then when i plugged it into my ipad it said it's at 3% i paired it but it refused to write with my pen. Whenever i charge it it always goes back down to 3% immediately.

If you just opened up the pen for the first time, charge it for a few hours, and try again.
If the pen does not work normally after that extended charging, contact the seller if the pen was used, or Apple if new.
