How to add music to iPad Air 4?

I feel like a dork and I’m missing something completely obvious…

I’ve got an iPad Air 4 and want to sync just one of my iTunes playlists to it so I can have a little bit of music offline. In the past on iPhones, I’ve just connected my iPhone to my iMac (27”, late 2012, running Mojave) and used iTunes to pick which playlists to sync.

But the iPad Air 4 has USB-C, not lightning, so I don’t think I have a cable that will work? I can connect my phone because I have plenty of regular USB to lightning cables, but I don’t have a USB-C to USB.

Is there a way to do this without a cable? I‘m not about to go buy a cable for this one-time use. :/
