Upgrade to Version 10.15

How do I upgrade from a 10.13.6 version on a Mac mini to a 10.15 version? I've tried several times to upgrade and I get an error message saying "unable to download" because I am operating on a 10.13 version.

Whether you can update or not, depends on the exact model of Mac you have, not the macOS version it is running.

Also, where are you trying to download the update from exactly?

If you have a compatible Mac, see here to download Catalina: link-> How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support

What year model is the Mac Mini?

see > https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201894

The 2009, 2010 and 2011 Mac Mini's can only run up to 10.13 High Sierra.

The 2012 Mac Mini can run up to 10.15 Catalina.

The 2014, 2018 and 2020 Mac Mini's can run the latest 11 Big Sur.
