Apple Pay to wrong phone number

My wife accidentally sent a payment to an incorrect phone number. We were unable to figure out how to recall the transaction, so immediately we called our bank to see if they could stop payment. We thought they had but recently found out they have now taken back the $100 dollars they initially credited us for the mistake. Is there a way you can see if the payment was accepted, and a way we can get our money back into our account? The payment was made on 6/13/21 for $100 with the memo oven from OfferUp. Thank you.
