Speak screen on iPad -Not highlighting in Reader View, Not Speaking New Webpage

I am experimenting with the Accessibility tools for our Special Needs school. I am using an Ipad 7th generation with iOS 14.7.1. My Accessibility settings are: Spoken Content: Speak Selection: On, Speak Screen:On, Highlight Content:On.; Speech Controller:On I am having 2 issues:

-In reader view in Safari, read text is not highlighted

-I read webpage in Safari and pause it using the controller. When I go to a new webpage and hit play, it continues to read the first page. So, how do you stop reading a page and clear the content so you can read another web page (besides turning off the iPad)?
