Why are my files not starting at the set place?

I have some music files that have extraneous stuff going on before the song begins, so using the Options section of the Info section of the song, I set the starting point at several seconds, so it won't start at zero. However, even though I do this, they still start at zero! I don't understand why this happens, it used to work fine (before I updated to Big Sur), but now it won't. Is there any kind of fix for this, or must I hope an update happens that fixes this?

And just now, I'm trying to sync my iPod with the Music, and it's telling me it first has to delete everything on it, in order to sync because it can only sync to one computer at a time! Well, this is the same computer it's been syncing with! The only difference is that my OS is now 11.5.2, instead of 11.5.1! So why is it treating it like a whole different computer??? This is crazy...
