the wifi symbol on the top bar is greyed with a exclamation mark through it. wifi button is off and will not switch on.
with a notice "wifi not configured" showing
network prefs seem to hold no answers

Suggest About this Mac >> System Report >> Network >> Locations and look if the Wifi Card is listed. Also same path but in Wifi section for a listing.
If nothing listed - could be a hardware issue ?
iv'e deleted the unused services, then added another and configured to wifi. wifi switch now engages , and is configured to iPhone operating as expected. so too many unused services...
yes a new issue , i had the internet on ethernet. then came to use wifi and the wifi button would not engage. numerous attempts to use the network prefs have proved a dead end. i'm currently running internet on USB through iPhone . need to use wifi ... though
