Verify identity to receive an Apple Pay payment from a person

I received an Apple Pay payment from someone today and it said ‘click to accept’. It’s never said that before. Then it said verify identity and prompted me to enter full legal name, address, zip code, last four off social security number. Is this legitimate or a scam?
