"Unable to activate Touch ID on this iPhone"

When I restart my iPhone SE updated with the latest OS, I started getting this message beginning today.

Touch ID

Unable to activate Touch ID on this iPhone. I don’t use Touch ID.

How to I get rid of this message?

The people on this forum are just others users like you. I guess nobody else has decided to respond and I don't know all that much about Touch ID. Anyway, that looks like one of those spurious issues that's tough to trace with no clues as to what's wrong. Hence I suggest you contact official Apple Support about this. :-)
