How to reset a used iPad?

Hi, my father passed away over 2 years ago and I have his ipad. Is there a way I can reset it so I can use it?

There is likely an activation lock on the device if it was connected to his account. if you know the access information, you can prepare the device by following this guide: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351
