Iwatch series 1 38mm not able to hard reset the iwatch after too many failed passcode attempts

i have a iwatch series 1 38mm and its currently not paired to any iphone. as per the steps given it provides a option to place the watch on charger and then press the side button, when i press the side button i do get the "power off" button, but when i hard press it on screen , it does not give me a "erase all setting/data option"

i have tried it multiple times and iam sure iam pressing the "power off" button, if i press it any harder it may break the screen.

any other suggestion to reset the iwatch and pair it?
