Apple Watch Cellular Battery use when White

For an Apple Watch 6 with cellular, how does the battery use compare when it's white (meaning it's seeing the wifi or iphone) vs Green (actually connected to cellular). Does it constantly search for towers or does it wait until the Wifi drops and the iphone is not in connection with the watch (aka leaving phone at home). Ideally I'd like to leave it on, that way I don't have to remember to turn it on if I leave my phone in the car or at home when out and about but don't want to drain the battery if it's going to burn through it in standby mode (white).

It only uses cellular when off bluetooth with your iPhone or off a Wifi.

Don't worry about it. I am in and out of range of my phone and network all day.

I end the day with about 50% battery left.

But it is less when I have a heavy texting day.

Go and enjoy the watch!

Hi Alan,

Thanks for reaching out about using the cellular connection with your Apple Watch. We can help with this. The watch behaves like an iPhone does that is not connected to Wi-Fi. It will search for and connect with a tower based on your location. To learn how to get the most out of your Apple Watch battery life, review the tips here:
