Apple Watch requires passcode

My Apple Watch now says “your iPhone has a policy that requires a new Apple Watch passcode”


I didn’t set this up and I ideally don’t want a passcode on my watch - is there anyway I can disable this? When I go to Apple Watch app > passcode the “turn passcode off” feature is greyed out.

Hi. Thanks for your response. It’s not a work or corporate phone but I understand the logic. It’s my personal phone and the watch is my personal watch - this has never happened and has been fine up until today.

If it's a work/corporate phone then they have put restrictions in place on your phone and requiring a passcode for a watch is one of them.
