How can I show all open windows on my iPhone?

Once in a while I have an issue with my iPhone, where. my iPhone will not execute an action, when I select it. This problem also periodically happens on my iPad also. But, on my iPad I can usually resolve my issue by double clicking the Home button, which brings up all open windows on my iPad , which are still open and probably working in the background. Generally swiping each open window up on the iPad screen will usually resolve my issue by closing all the windows or performing a restart does the same thing. I know the same thing happen on my iPhone, but for some reason, the iPhone will automatically display all open screens without me activating the request, how I do not know, but is there a way I can manually bring up all open windows, similar to me double clicking the Home button on my iPad or can it be done?

iPhone XR, iOS 14
