Schooltime configuration WITHOUT Family setup

Hi everyone,

yesterday I have commented a thread with a similar topic, but apparently my comments were deleted over night. Don't know why, but then I will open a new question.

The introduction of schooltime is welcome addition to the parental management functions on our kids watches. There is so far one very obvious flaw, you need to use family setup in order to configure schooltime. The issue is that many kids (my daughter as well) already own an iPhone and they have paired the Apple Watch with their own device.

By this I am am not able to configure schooltime on her watch, not even with my daughters iPhone. The only way is to start it manually on the watch which does not give you the option to configure a schedule nor receiving notifications on my phone.

A very simple solution would be to integrate schooltime into screen time. It makes perfect sense, if you look at the purpose of screen time. You can already set limits for daily usage of apps, time off during nights, etc. Schooltime would be a logical addition to this functionality and allows parents to include watches which are paired with our kids iPhones.

Additionally not all carriers do support family setup. In my case I have already connected my personal watch with my iPhone and I cannot add a second device to my phone as my carrier doesn't offer this option. So I had to purchase a separate plan for my daughter for use in her private phone. And only by that I could activate the cellular function in her watch.

Hopefully Apple realises this issue and addresses it in one of the next updates. I am happy to hear your thoughts as well.
