moving jpg to external drive shows 0 bytes

Why can't I move an edited photo from iPhoto onto my external drive?

The transferred file shows 0 bytes.

My original photo was on the external drive (a Samsung T7 with 2 terabytes. I've only used 23G).

I copied the original photo into iPhoto to edit the photo.

I'm trying to save the edited photo back onto the external drive, into an "edited photos" folder.

The photo shows up as having 0 bytes.

My iPhoto crashed a few days ago and I think I saw a message about corrupted files, but I didn't get a good look at it. Any help is appreciated.
