My phone had recently broke because of water damage and I tried to get apple care to not make the price to repair so expensive but I am not eligible and do not understand why. Please help. I am on vacation as we speak but cannot use my phone.

Signing up for Apple Care after your phone is damaged is not possible. If Apple Care wasn't purchased at the time the device was purchased, you have up to 60 days to sign up. At that time Apple will run a diagnostic on the device. If it fails then your device will not be eligible for coverage.

Trying to add Apple Care after the phone is damaged is like trying to take out a life insurance policy on someone who is already dead... That's called "fraud".
