general reset of iphone 8
My iphone 8 will not connect to the internet, even though all cellular data is on. If I go to General in Settings, and it hit Reset, will it erase my data, apps,....?

First, try restarting your iPhone to see if that fixes the problem.
However, if you really want to reset your phone, then tapping 'Reset All Settings' would get rid of everything on your iPhone. That's why before you reset it, you should create a backup. You can find out how to do so here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
