My watch does not turn on, completely black?

How to troubleshoot my watch, I washed the band, but I did not wet my watch face, but when I charged it , the watch is completely blank

My watch is charged and I have tried to hard reset and it still won’t turn on Why will my watch not turn on, even though it is charged and I tried to hard reset? The only thing that I can think of is to much exposure to water as I washed dishes at work and kept it on. But I wash dishes with it on all the time and have never had a problem.
