I have a gmail account i want to add to iMessage. IMessage will not accept it because it is my notification address. I removed it as notification address, but Apple ID page will still not allow me to add this address as a valid address for iMessage. What to do next?
Device or computer? You posted you were trying to add the account on the Apple ID page. Have you tried adding the account in Messages/PreferencesAccount or in Settings/Messages?
On Device: iPad Pro M1; Settings / Messages it lists 3 emails and a phone number, no option to add another.
Inside the Messages app on the iPad, I see no where to add an address.
On Computer: Running Messages / Preferences on the iMessage tab it lists the same phone number and 3 email addresses.
There is no option to add a fourth email.
Have you tried adding the email address to Reachable At on your Apple ID? You may need to restart before trying to add it to Messages.
