I just downloaded the 14.7.1 update and now most of my apps won’t open, the camera doesn’t work and also the flashlight. Does anyone have that problem or can suggest how I can get these glitches fixed. I have the newest iPhone SE.

Hi,

That definitely sounds like a glitch which can likely be solved with a restart or force restart.

  • Before performing the restart or force restart, you should double click the home button and swipe up on all the app previews so the apps can reload and hopefully resolve the issue.
  • To restart the iPhone: Press and hold the side button until you see “slide to power off” then you can slide the toggle. Now wait at least 1 minute and go ahead and press and hold the power button until you see the Apple logo.
  • If the restart did not work, try a force restart: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/iphone/iph8903c3ee6/ios
  • If the force restart does not work:
  • If you have access to a Mac or Windows PC with iTunes, you can backup then restore the iPhone. A restore will delete all data on the iPhone and reinstall iOS. You can retrieve most of your data with the backup you made prior to restoring. To see what data a backup saves, view this article: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204136
  • If you have no access to a computer, you can go to the settings app (on your iPhone)> general > reset > erase all content and settings. This will delete all of your data. You can backup to iCloud if you want.

Keep in mind this is not a normal occurrence when installing new iOS software updates. This is a irregular glitch which should not happen again.
