Apple Watch Shared Calendar Notifications

Why do I keep getting notifications from shared Outlook calendars on my watch, but not my phone, when I have the shared calendar changes notifications turned off and the shared calendars are unchecked? Shared Calendar Alerts is also set to Off in my Apple Watch Notifications settings.

I am on watchOS7.6.1 and iOS14.7.1 which appears to be the most current updates. I have tried restarting both the phone and the watch to no avail. I also recently purchased an iPad Pro and have shared calendar changes notifications off and have turned it off and back on. The iPad is on iPadOS14.7.1.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If you already tried that and it didn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
