You do not say what exact Mac this is...(?)

On the older Macs, say 2012, 2011, 2010 etc the DC-in board is prone to wear out.

Having to push on it is 'a classic' to get it to register.

Any Computer repair shop familiar with Macs can do the work.

For a check in fee the shop can diagnosis the problem, then you can decide to proceed or not.

I would expect a total of Parts & labor ~ $115.00 USD if it proves to be the DC-in board.

Try a New Charger:

If it is charging from an external device, then use a new charger:

• Power & Cables - Mac Accessories - Apple - Select "Mac Compatibility" on the left
• Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook - Apple Support
