Screen locks while on whatsapp video call and Skype

Hello Apple,

I have seen this question being asked before, however, I did not see if there was a fix or a solution that came out following it. Hence I am mentioning it again. I am have iPhone 11 Pro Max and while you are on your whatsapp video call and you try to access any media and then go back to the video call the screen starts auto locking as if I am not using my phone. Initially I thought it might be the app issue (me myself being a developer) and tried reinstalling the app. The issue still persists. I now realize that the same thing is happening with Skype and that this may not be an app issue but might be a software issue. Can you please look into it because it really gets frustrating after a point?

Hi nehasoni,

It appears that the screen on your iPhone 11 Pro Max will go to sleep/lock while actively using it in multiple apps (WhatsApp and Skype). We know you mentioned that you tried reinstalling WhatsApp. A couple other steps you can take is to restart your iPhone and also ensure that it is running the latest version of iOS. Those may seem like simple steps, but they might help.

You could also see if switching Auto-Lock to "Never" and then putting it back to your preferred setting may help as well. Let us know how those steps go or if you've already tried those, as it can help determine possible next steps.
