Ipad Tap to Wake

I have the Ipad Pro 11 inch 3rd generation. When I tap the screen to wake it, the screen turns on but it is initially dim and after a second it reaches full brightness. I would rather it just go to the correct brightness as soon as I tap it. I have searched through the settings and called apple but they were not aware of the issue. Thanks

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities JackCasey5

Thank you for contacting us. You have come to the right place and we are happy to assist you. We understand your iPad is not fully bright when you "tap to wake".   We can understand why you’d reach out for a solution. To start, make sure you have the most current operating system on your device. (Settings > General > Software Update) There are a couple settings that could be causing this to happen. Check the different troubleshooting steps in the below article for ways to adjust the brightness of your display.

Adjust the screen brightness and color on iPad

  • Automatic
  • Brightness
  • TrueTone
  • Night Shift
  • Wallpaper

Additionally, an accessibility feature may also be enabled.

Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size

  • Reduce Transparency
  • Increase Contrast

Make sure you have backups prior to making any major system changes: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
