Instagram user shows up on my share file option list - how do I remove it?

With my new iPad, when I select a photo and click the up arrow in a box link to upload, I now have an Instagram user who I wrote to once in a DM, who now appears as a choice to link with (as shown in the photo with the arrow).

How can I remove this sharing choice from my iPad?

I have rarely ever used the DM on Instagram... is this regular behavior?

If you DM an instagram user, do they appear every day after that as an upload link? Sorry to be so ignorant. Maybe this is just standard iPad behavior from the new Instagram Messenger?

I've tried all kinds of things on both my Apple control panels and on the Instagram sharing panels. Anyone know how to do this?

Congratulations on the purchase of your new iPad!

It sounds like you are trying to remove a suggested contact from the sharing options, and we'd like to help.

Try adjusting this setting:

Open the Settings app
Tap Siri & Search
In the Siri Suggestions section, turn off "Suggestions when Sharing"

It may take some time for the Instagram user to disappear from the recents list, but eventually he will.

Hi John,

The feature to remove the recent contacts from the sharing menu was updated with iPadOS 14. That's one of the reasons it is always good to update to the most recent version of the operating system for your device. Make sure you have a backup in place before doing this.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also, review the iCloud Photos options for your iPad. If you find yourself sharing photos with the same people all the time, then Shared albums is a simple way to do this. This is also the easiest way to share video clips that are too big to send via email.
