Battery gets real hot while charging

Define "real hot?"

If you're using a faster charger, such as a 20W brick, the battery should be warm. Batteries while being charged heat up naturally. iPhone has circuitry built in to avoid overhearing situations. If you are not seeing a message suggesting your phone needs to cool down, it's likely operating within normal parameters.
