Battery replacement 2011 MacBook Pro

Just checking to see if I can bring the laptop in for a new battery or whether I need to take it to another company. Thanks! It’s a 2011 MacBook 13 inch.

MacBook Battery not detected My mid-2014 15" Retina MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.7.2 [up to date] has stopped detecting its battery. It boots and runs seemingly normally, but perhaps(?) a little slowly/glitchy when connected to AC power. The battery was replaced by a (now out of business) 3rd party vendor last Spring. When I attempt to boot in Diagnostic mode, I end up in Network Recovery Mode. Nothing there, nor on the EtreCheck report points to a hardware or malware problem in an obvious fashion, but perhaps I know too little to interpret them correctly. With my limited hardware skill set, I'm not unsure if I want to replace the battery, given the risk and cost of having diagnose and replace more components on such an old machine. I'd appreciate any suggestions or opinions you might offer.

MacBook pro 13" A1502 Early 2015 Retina Battery issues Hi everyone. My MacBook's battery swell 3 years ago and i had it removed; but as i couldn't find the original battery, i had to keep going on without battery and as you know it runs really slow... I've showed it to apple store and other computer services. the problem is that they say even with the battery it works the same!!! still too slow!! they say it's a Motherboard problem because it gets too hot. but they can't find out the problem. Could anyone help please? i thought with a new battery it fixes but seems not to be true....

how does replacing a battery work? say i want to repclace my battery is it ok to go to a third party store? of is going to apple the better choice to get a “original battery” or doesn’t something like that exist? thanks in advance!

While Apple recently changed their policy to provide battery replacements for up to 10 years I believe that is only valid for hardware that is currently supported since Apple would have stopped making batteries for a 2011 model years ago. Keep in mind the quality of third party Lithium-ion batteries is extremely poor even when purchased from a reputable vendor such as OWC or iFixIt. I recommend purchasing a battery from one of these two vendors since other vendors may sell you a battery with only one active cell which won't do much at all. You must be extremely careful when buying anything online, but you need to be especially careful with Lithium-ion batteries.
