Free Apple AirPods with purchase of Mac

Hello, I bought a MacBook Pro a couple months ago from Best Buy. How would I be able to claim the free AirPods. I called but apple customer service wasn’t helpful.

You don’t.

The offer for students just started.

If you did not purchase the device during the promotion period, you don’t qualify for the offer.
