Is M1 iMac really so much slower in video encoding?

Hello,

I must really say the new iMac is really that computer I wanted to have since years.

I have the silver Version with 1 TB SSD and 16 GB Ram. I hope for some years support by Apple. Hope more than 5 Years.

I have take the big keyboard and the magic track pad too. I have an old rilver Magic Mouse so I have all apple input parts for my workflow.

Most things are really running extreme fast. And I have the scores in Cinebench and Geekbench that shows my system is doing a great job.

Only in Video encoding I am extreme shocked. The M1 runs warm and the fans started to work around 90 %.. But the speed in iVI5 (M1version) or in Handbrake (M1 version) takes extreme long.

I must say when I put this in iVI 4 on my late 2013 i7 MBPr 2,3 Ghz version it is much faster there. min. 2-3 times faster.

Is the M1 really so bad in videoencoding?

Thx for your answers.
