I just got my Yubikey 5 NFC, and want to use it with my iMac (Big Sur 11.5.2, Safari 14.1.2) but it doesn't work with Safari. Do I have to instal a different browser to use it?

Yubikey 5 NFC is not recognized by Safari 14.1.2. Did Apple 'downgrade' from previous versions that did recognize it? Do I have to install a different browser on my 2021 iMac?
