Mic and speaker stop working

I have ipad pro 4th generation 2020. During my class in either zoom or in google meet mic and speaker stop working at any time. Then application restart within few minutes with no voice and mic.


I tried many things but the problem remained.

I claimed warranty and got new device but this new device has same problem as previous for which I claimed warranty.


Being a teacher, I regret why I bought this device.


Any suggestions?.

Please help needed.

With Zoom, it seems there are frequent updates to the downloaded software, that may be necessary.

(The Zoom website has a lot of info., videos, and how to's that can be very helpful..)

has info. about "Permissions requested by Zoom"

(i.e permissions may need to be given, for Zoom to use microphone and speaker)

System and Bandwidth requirements for Zoom on iPad:

Also, seems wise to check the settings for Zoom on iPad, especially after iOS updates

(Permit Zoom to access to camera and microphone.)


Change the iPad settings :

Do your Part: Let Apple know what is going on here via their feedback site. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this the more they can know how things are easily used, and how it suits their users expectations.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPad - Apple
  2. Select: "Performance" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when you came across this issue, and how you have troubleshot it thus far. Include a link to this post.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Thank you for your reply.

Wondering if the two iPads Pro you compared have same or different iOS, (and google ... app?)

As I have little experience with google meet, haven't much to offer there.

(Sometimes third party (non-Apple) software does cause difficulties on Apple products.)

Google may have tips to offer ?

Actually I mentioned in my query that I went to sales center and claimed warranty. The device sent to Singapore and I received new device with different serial number. But issue not resolved.

I'm still facing same problem.


Apple officials should notice the problem and check ipad pro 2020 4th generation with zoom and google meet that it's mic and speaker stop working during meetings.

Company-Owned?

Is this a company-owned device? If so, take it up with the network manager (AKA Web master), as they are the one who manage such devices.
