Mouse flickering on MacBook Air M1 2020

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing mouse flickering issues on my Macbook Air M1 2020.

Basically, the flickering occurs at the beginning of use of my MBA. When I start the mac, the mouse arrow acts like it's flickering, after a couple of minutes it calms down and acts normal (like if the graphics card had to warm up a little...). The flickering leaves a trail of arrows behind and also acts very weird while changing state (from arrow to hand, for example).

The MBA is up-to-date, and I actually hoped that it was going to be corrected on the last update, but was not.

Could you please confirm if this is only happening with the mouse cursor or are other things flickering as well?

Do you experience this same issue if you boot in to safe mode? This will walk you through booting up in safe mode to test that: Start up your Mac in safe mode

Thanks for the answer,

It is quite sad that I have to reinstall the entire OS because of a flickering issue. Really taught Apple product were "just working". I guess its all the same.

Also, I thought it was only happening while "starting up" but I am using it for about half an hour and flicker is still here.

Another thing I forgot to mention, is there is a flicker and also a lag. Mouse flickers and sometimes lags "disappear, reappears". I already changed my display settings to default (and not the last setting on the right) as I read online that Apple support for the screen resolution sucks. But it did not change anything. I am experiencing the issue on either settings.

EDIT: was not able to get into safe mode. Step 3 should be more clear. anyways...

I am on SAFE MODE and I have no flickering so far.

What does that indicate? Software issue?
