My new iMac (and my last year's iMac too) won't find the 11.5.2 update with 11.5.1 installed. So far, the only solution I see is to redownload the entire Big Sur installer and update everything. This is time consuming and tedious, and shouldn't be necessary. What is happening and why?
FWIW, one reason that could happen is if you installed the public beta of Big Sur. You would have to sign out of the beta program before 11.5.2 will appear in Software Update.

If you download the full installer from the App Store and stop the installation immediately you can save the installer to another location so it won't be deleted after the install. That way you save on one download and keep it if you need it later on.
