recover text messages

In almost all cases there is no way for you or Apple to recover deleted text messages as once they are deleted from your device they are deleted from the server. This is the same with iMessage messages as well.

The only way to recover deleted messages is if you did not enable "Messages in iCloud" on your device in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud. If messages is toggled OFF, then this means all your iMessages and Text Messages are stored on your device.

If you happen to make regular backups of your device either in iCloud or using Finder/iTunes then it might be possible to restore your device from a backup. However if Messages in iCloud has been enabled then there would be no way to recover any messages.
