Can I retrieve photos once I delete them

If the photos are in the deleted photos album, yes. If not, no. If the photos are not in the deleted album, you’d need a backup of your iPhone (if storing photos entirely locally), or a backup of iCloud (if using iCloud Photos), or copies of the now-deleted photos stored elsewhere.
