How to change your local iTunes Store and App Store country

  1. Launch Settings from your Home screen.
  2. Tap on iTunes & App Store.
  3. Tap on Apple ID.
  4. Authenticate with Password or Touch ID, if required.
  5. Tap on Country/Region.
  6. Tap on Change Country or Region.
  7. Choose a new country or region.
  8. Tap on Next.

Nobody here has any connections to Apple. We are product users just like you. I am not stopping you from changing country settings or even eating ice cream with pickles. How Apple does their business is up to them. If you don't like it, then tell them*. There is absolutely zip I or anybody else here can do about it. We have just been telling you how to do things with Apple. When I become Earth Emperor I can promise things will be done differently.


If you wish to change your country settings then you can contact Apple and request they terminate your active subscriptions immediately. Before you do that I encourage you to read the country change document carefully. For example, one thing you will need is a valid payment method such as a credit card billed to you at an address in Germany (if that's the country to which you are changing). You can't use a credit card billed to you in the USA.


Click here --> https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Well, thats how it is. Apple doesn’t make it easy to change your account’s country and region settings simply because your payment details are associated with it. When you switch to a different country for your Apple ID, you’re basically accessing App Store, iTunes, and other content in that particular region and you’ll need to make payments in their local currency. This is exactly where your payments could clash.

Sorry, that doesn’t make sense: in order to enter restaurants and shops in Europe, most require a ‘COVID passport’.

this certificate is available from pharmacies on proof of your country vaccination card (mine being from RSA).

The German authorities have provided for free an App (Covpass) that you use to scan your certificate code and have in your phone to display and verify in shops and restaurants.

Now I cannot get it.

I even cancelled my Apple Music subscription but it seems that because it only expires end Sept it still won’t allow me access.

The system isn't designed for casual travelers to get access to stores in other countries. Apple doesn't say why but very likely it would be a massive headache dealing with all the taxation and import/export regulations, plust you having to fill out a customs declaration for every app you buy. Have you checked whether or not your country/state has a Covid vaccination app? My state just announced one today. Otherwise you j=could just take your certificate with you.

a) I’m not a casual traveller. I’ve moved countries.

b) it’s a free app. And not one used for transactions.

c) no matter what, I’ve complied and stopped my subscriptions but because they still need to ‘expire’ in 15+ days, I have to wait. At least allow me to end them immediately, or give me the benefit now that I’ve complied
