my Mac won't let me delete an app that is taking up a considerable amount of storage. whenever I click delete nothing happens. how can I delete this app

Background apps exiting OS X 12.5.1 (21G83) Usually the memory apps like Excel and iMovie: in the background, after awhile, they exit, and need restarted (and in the case of Excel, forget state). This is a recent change. I have plenty of memory (32GB) and don't even get close to running out (I watch the Activity Monitor). Is there some setting to stop this behavior?

Where exactly are you clicking “delete”?

Usually to delete an App you drag it to the trash or use its uninstaller.
